“So, the match is lit, and IMMORTAL X-MEN is a book about the burning. To speak in a Hickmanian idiom, this is the NEW AVENGERS to Gerry [Duggan]'s AVENGERS. This is the book about Krakoa, and the Quiet council, with all its muffled screams. It's about a group of people, some of whom are convinced they're in the West Wing, some who have designs to be in House of Cards and at least one who knows they're in Veep. It's big ideas, politics, fights and fashion, lies, creation and destruction, all told across the widest possible canvas, in time and space. It's some characters I've written before, with the volume turned up. It's me falling in love with some characters I've never touched. It's me somehow talking Marvel into paying me for having this much fun.

Immortal Xmen 14: autant je n ai pas aimé Sins if sinister autant les consequences pleuvent mais là tout ce qui fait Krakoa est remis en cause...
Cela permet une introspection du lecteur sur ces propres croyances et ideaux.. superbes
Je suis pas toujours un fan de gillen (ces séries image recentes m ont laissé de marbre) mais là depuis qu il est sur xmen et eternals.. il arrive à interroger le lecteur au travers de ces comics sur tout ce qui à la base de ses croyances intimes.

Exodus qui depuis le debut de cette série devient un personnage pour la premiere fois depuis.... toujours est même assez bouleversant.
Des episodes comme j aimerais en lire souvent que ce soit chez marvel, dc ou les autres..

Ce personnage, malgré son "fanatisme", est parfois porté sur l'introspection et fatalement, amène le lecteur à en faire autant. J'ai le souvenir, dans les préludes d' AvX, de son retournement de veste par rapport à la naissance de Hope.

Lu enfin les #1-5 et je rejoins l'ami Mallrat! Punaise ça envoit du steack. Gillen n'a pas la tâche facile de devoir enchainer avec un Quiet Council où siège Exodus, Sinistre, Magneto, Mystique, Shaw (ce qui Hickman finalement avait très peu utilisé), l'immortalité des mutants connues de tous, le retour de

et une guerre en approche.

Et il le fait vraiment bien, c'est ambitieux, ça ne se cache pas derrière les concepts (ce que fait Sinistre est grandiose), il utilise habilement le lore X et des seconds couteaux comme Exodus, Hop ou même Séléné qui pète la classe en quelques scènes.

Et il n'hésite pas à ajouter un contexte hors krakoa à son titre avec les puissants excités par le fantasme de la vie éternelle et, justement, un retour de baton de la partir du Marvel Universe sur la tronche des mutants qui, il faut avouer, ne mérite que ça depuis longtemps.

Bref en 5 numéros (très joliment dessinés) je trouve que Gillen assure la suite de Hox/Pox brillamment et n'hésite pas à utiliser le lore avec ambition ! Top !
