Le slip revient!

Superman's red trunks aren't the only piece of DC history coming back in April 18's Action Comics #1000 - so are several of its key creators.

(And Brian Michael Bendis too, but we'll get to that in a second).

The writers of DC's two current Superman books - Superman and Action Comics - will each have 15-page stories in Action Comics #1000. Action Comics' writer (and sometimes artist) Dan Jurgens will be writing and drawing his own story, while Superman co-writer Pat Gleason is drawing a story by his co-writer Peter J. Tomasi.
Newly-exclusive writer Brian Michael Bendis will be writing a 10-page story in Action Comics #1000, drawn by Jim Lee. This will be Bendis' first DC work since 2000's Batman Chronicles #21 with artist Michael Gaydos.

Additional stories are planned from the teams of: Richard Donner/Geoff Johns/Oliver Coipel, Paul Dini/José Luis García-López, Tom King/Clay Mann/Jordie Bellaire, Brad Meltzer/John Cassaday/Laura Martin, Louise Simonson/Jerry Ordway, Scott Snyder/Tim Sale, and Marv Wolfman writing a new story based on unpublished art by the late Curt Swan.

Even more stories and all-star collaborations are said to be announced at a later date.

As part of this event, DC will also be publishing an Action Comics hardcover companion book edited by one-time DC publisher Paul Levitz. In addition to that, titles across DC's superhero line will feature Superman-themed variants in the month of April.
